8 Ways to Drink More Water

“Drink more water.” Each one of has this popular advice from almost everybody. Want to lose weight? Have digestive problems? Feeling gloomy? Acne problem? DRINK MORE WATER. This advice sounds so simple, but you and I know how difficult it can be. Wish there were some hacks to hydrate yourself without stressing about it? Here’s your wish come true! These hacks will help you to drink more water effortlessly.

1. Morning Ritual:

Drink 1 glass of water first thing in the morning. This will hydrate your body and help you wake up fresh. Start drinking water consciously initially. In no time this will become a ritual and the first thing you do when you wake up will always be drinking a glass of water. It takes 21 days to form a habit. So put efforts for 21 days for a hydrated life.

                                                     2. Bottle Buddy:

You may have hundreds of friends but this buddy has to be with you all the time. Carry a bottle of water wherever you go. This can be easier if you have a bottle that you like. There are bottles of so many shapes, sizes and prints. Buy a bottle that you absolutely love so that you carry it everywhere like a mandatory accessory. This will increase the frequency of drinking water throughout the day.

3. Water Wallpaper:

Change your phone or PC’s wallpaper to an image of water. It does not have to be a boring glass of water. There are so many creative wallpapers like the one on the right. This works in two ways. It reminds you to drink water whenever you look at it. Also, it is observed that looking at water makes you thirsty. This is a win-win situation!

If you do not like the taste of water or don’t feel excited about drinking water, I’ve got a hack for you. Cut slices of your favorite fruits and simply put it in your water. The water will take up all the flavor and nutrients from the fruit slices and you will feel motivated to drink this water.

5. Reminder Alarms: 

Remembering to drink water looks like a mind consuming task? Outsource this task! There are so many ways to do this. Set a periodic alarm on your phone, download apps that remind you to drink water or simply paste sticky notes on your things reminding you to drink water. De-stress and hydrate timely.

6. Bathroom breaks:

Once you consciously start drinking more water, it is given that you will have to take more bathroom breaks. A quick and easy reminder of drinking water is your bathroom break. Re-hydrate as soon as you dehydrate. This is the easiest fix once you have started off with your “more water campaign”.

7. Water tracker:

Track the amount of water you drink throughout the day. The best way to do this is keep a bottle that only you use and drink water only from that bottle. Do not refill until it is completely empty. There are many apps available that help you track your water. You can also do this using a journal. Simplest way is to mark an x in your pocket diary every time you finish a bottle.

8. Eat your water: 

As absurd as it may sound, it is the most effective way to hydrate yourself without having to drink water directly. When I say eat your water, I mean eat foods that contain higher percentages of water. Fruits such as watermelon, oranges and strawberries have high water content in them. Also vegetables like cucumber and tomato have maximum water composition. So for all those of you who don’t like the taste of water, eat your water.
